چکیده

The demand for applications involving Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) or RFID systems is increasing. The sensor in a WSN and RFID tag/reader in a RFID system are called resource constrained devices because these devices have limited processing power, memory size and energy supply. The information transmitted among these low resource devices must be protected from unauthorized access using specifically made cryptographic algorithms. In this paper a new block cipher BEST-1 (Better Encryption Security Technique-1) is proposed with 64 bit block length and 128 bit key length. It is specifically designed for the above mentioned low resource devices. It provides good security and better processing speed as a cryptographic algorithm.

New Fixed Point Attacks on GOST2 Block Cipher

GOST block cipher designed in the 1970s and published in 1989 as the Soviet and Russian standard GOST 28147-89. In order to enhance the security of GOST block cipher after proposing various attacks on it, designers published a modified version of GOST, namely GOST2, in 2015 which has a new key schedule and explicit choice for S-boxes. In this paper, by using three exactly identical portions of ...

Optimizing the Block Cipher Resource Overhead at the Link Layer Security Framework in the Wireless Sensor Networks

The security requirements in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and the mechanisms to support the requirements, demand a critical examination. Therefore, the security protocols employed in WSNs should be so designed, as to yield the optimum performance. The efficiency of the block cipher is, one of the important factors in leveraging the performance of any security protocol. In this paper, therefo...

Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis of Reduced-Round Midori64 Block Cipher (Extended Version)

Impossible differential attack is a well-known mean to examine robustness of block ciphers. Using impossible differ- ential cryptanalysis, we analyze security of a family of lightweight block ciphers, named Midori, that are designed considering low energy consumption. Midori state size can be either 64 bits for Midori64 or 128 bits for Midori128; however, both vers...

Algebraic Attack Efficiency versus S-box Representation

Algebraic analysis of block ciphers aims at finding the secret key by solving a collection of polynomial equations that describe the internal structure of a cipher for chosen observations of plaintext/ciphertext pairs. Although algebraic attacks are addressed for cryptanalysis of block and stream ciphers, there is a lack of understanding of the impact of algebraic representation of the cipher o...

Security Evaluation of Light-weight Block Ciphers by Gpgpu

Nowadays, general purpose graphical processing unit (GPGPU) has been used in many ares. We use it for security evaluation of light-weight block ciphers. Light-weight block cipher is one of key technologies for small communication devices such as sensor network. To design a light-weight block cipher whose fastness and security are balanced, so that, its security margin should be evaluated exactl...
